The entertainment industries involved in producing and distributing movies need make-up artists who can deal with the TV make-up. The camera lens has no mercy, you need to look perfect. Sometimes a small, low-budget movie industry are not hiring the make-up artist. Because of that, the end result is always poor.
The TV make-up should matt the skin, cover the wrinkles, redness etc. It is a very tough make-up, but in front of the camera it looks very soft. The light is very important. I was writing about the light on the photo session in here.
Mat and cover
In the TV make-up everything can be ruined because of the stress and a light which increases the temperature. That’s why we need to do a few things in the make-up before we use the HD powders. The good idea is to wash the face with soap – it pull together your pores. You can use also a special preparation or cosmetic to do so. Use a make-up base and appropriate color of concealers and foundations.
The foundation covers not only the face but also shoulders, neck and ears. The people like presenters or celebrities often has a very elegance outfit so you need to be careful with the cosmetics. Dermablend is a perfect foundation for the body and legs. It covers every wrinkles, tattoos, scars. Remember, that on the darker places on the body (ex, knees) you should apply the highlighter.
Even the darkest eye shadows in front of the camera are pale. Things like brocade use very carefully, only in fashion make-up look, never in the business make-up.
Perfect are matte shadows. You need to check every pink color – don’t choose the one with a blue pigment in it. Don’t forget to do the make-up also for men!
Make-up can give you a lot of self-confidence in front of the camera, don’t be scared!
